How paid messages work
Fans pay to message you. You reply when you can, within 3 days.
You set your price. A fan pays it to send you a message, and you reply from Inbox › Messages. The payment is for the message, so it’s yours whether you reply or not, but replying on time keeps your inbox open.
The 3 steps
Grow › Your page › Paid message price. Free: $1 or $3. Plus and Pro: any price from $1 to $500. You can also offer Priority: a reply within 24 hours, for 50% more.
They pay your price and write their message. Fan Pro fans can attach files. You get an alert.
✓ AutomaticReply within 3 days. Your reply opens a free 72-hour chat so you can talk back and forth.

The reply rule
What counts as on time
A reply within 3 days (24 hours for Priority). Your reply rate is your on-time replies out of your paid messages over the last 30 days, once you’ve had 10.
Below 80%
You get a warning, with tips to get back on track.
Below 70%
Paid messages pause for 3 days. A second time, 15 days; a third, 30 days. A fourth time turns them off. Each pause fades after 90 days.
Taking a break
Turn on Away mode (up to 30 days). Fans can’t send paid messages while you’re away, so it never hurts your rate. It turns off by itself on your return date.
If you never reply
The message closes after 30 days. The fan isn’t refunded, but it counts against your reply rate.
